May Girl: The Tropical Island

Hey guys,

Time for a new Girl of the Month. May is long gone but we had some trouble getting this up. But here she is.

We decided to do a tropical colorful look for this beautiful month which is kind of the best out of both Spring and Summer. Main colors are blue and pink because she wanted these. Also she fell in love with those feather lashes she saw.

This dress is also really cute and reminds me of warm summer nights. It has this 20s touch but still is very modern. I also loved the flower in her hair. It didn’t go to well with the pinks but I think it looks so cute with her hair in the wind. :)

What you need:
  • Pink eyeshadow
  • Vibrant blue eyeshadow
  • Optional: shimmery blue eyeshadow
  • Skin tone colored eyeshadow
  • Dark grey eyebrow powder
  • White eyeliner (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Glittery white eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner pencil (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean)
  • Black gel eyeliner (as Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink)
  • False lashes
  • Foundation, concealer
  • Contour color
  • Pink blush
  • Pink lipliner
  • Pink lipstick

I think this is quite a wearable party make-up if you don’t use these dramatic lashes. I really love those pictures we took. What do you think?

Take care, bye!

To-Go Make-Up: Nyx Tutorial and Thx to Amy

Hey guys,

Remember that Contest Time thing? Guess what, I won. And this is my make-up look to thank Amy.

I used the Nyx stuff she send me, which will be listed below, but I forgot to use the foundation sample she gave me. :/ I am sorry. I will try that, too, soon.

What can I say about the things? First the pencil: I love it. It’s really great and doesn’t crease as much as Black Bean. And that’s great!
The palette is also great. I used it for another look and I am impressed. Well, the lighter colors don’t show up as well as they seem to in the palette but the darker colors are quite pigmented and pretty. Loooove.

This lipstick is a bummer. I was so impressed by the eye stuff, but this lipstick is just not great at all. It creases (do you say that for lip products, too?) and it emphasizes all lines and damages on your lips. It’s way too creamy. The color is so great, so I tried to use some concealer as a base for the lipstick. That does destroy the color on the one hand and doesn’t help all the lines on the other hand. I don’t know what to do with it just because of the color. :( Even plotting doesn’t help.

Find Amy's blog here: http://amyincyberland.blogspot.com

What you need:
  • Eyeshadow base (as Mac Paint Pot in Girlfriendly)
  • Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Slate
  • Golden eyeshadow (as the one of the Nyx Jazz Night palette)
  • Dark green eyeshadow (as the one of the Nyx Jazz Night palette)
  • White eyeliner (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Dark blue eyeshadow (as the one of the Nyx Jazz Night palette)
  • Lighter blue eyeshadow (as the one of the Nyx Jazz Night palette)
  • Black eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Concealer
  • Orangey lipstick (as Nyx Black Label Lipstick in 109 India)
  • Peachy blush (as Mac Blushcreme in Ladyblush)
 On its own.

On some concealer.

I hope you enjoy this look and check out Amy. I am sure she will do more great give-aways like that one.

Take care, bye!

With flash.

Nina Hagen: Evil Eyebrows

Hey guys,

This isn’t a look on its own, it’s an alternative look to the last Nina Hagen one. But I loved them both. This one has really evil and defined eyebrows while the crazyness of the other look was more about the *blush*.

I think the inspiration picture is so pretty and cool. Unfortunately this is no wearable look again. But I promise the last Nina look, coming up soon, will be more wearable again. And the new series won’t be that crazy.

Ok, now enjoy the look. Switch to 4:00, if you saw the first look. :)

What you need:
  • Black lose pigment (as Ponyhütchen pigment in Black)
  • Optional: Fix+
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Black eyeliner pencil (on the waterline)
  • Concealer
  • Foundation
  • Black gel eyeliner (as Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink)
  • Bronzer
  • Dark red lipstick (even black or purple would work)

Take care, bye!

Contest time: wayofyourstyle

Hey guys,

My head is a mess which means that I always forget things. I read it and it’s gone. I hate that. But well, you will understand in a second.

First I wanna talk about two of my brushes. These are like the more high-end brushes I own. The others are not that great but work well. Still I wanna order some Crown Brushes in the summer as soon as my lip tars arrive. ;)

Ok, the first brush was the most expensive one: It’s the Mac 224 brush which you all know (and I talked about that one before). But now that I have worked with it for some months I think I can tell you some more details.

First: I still love this brush. It’s great for what it’s for: blending. I use this in like every single look I do. And I’m sure you all know that. :D

But: It sheds. It loses more hair than I do when I wash my hair. And that sucks. I didn’t recognize that it changed the way it works yet. But I am sure it will have an influence. I mean if a brush loses all its hair what do you wanna work with? And a 30-euro-brush is nothing you can buy every year. :D
So I am interested in some other brands that do brushes like that. I am not sure which would be a brand that could be better than Mac because I hadn’t had the opportunity to try others yet. But one brand caught my eye (apart from Crown Brushes) and that was Sigma.

The first make-up brush I owned was by Sigma. It once was the SS239, but I think now it’s the E55. I had this one for about a year now and still it’s one of my favorites. It doesn’t shed, it’s super soft and doesn’t irritate my eye (which is quite important for me). This is also a brush I use like all the time. Maybe even more often than the Mac one. :D

If you wonder why I am telling you all this, it’s quite simple:

I saw a give-away of a German blogger. You can find her blog here: http://wayofyourstyle.blogspot.com/2011/05/rewiev-und-gewinnspiel-contest.html

She is giving away a travel size blending brush by Sigma (E25). As far as I know this is the conglomerate of the two brushes I love the most, so how can I miss that? :D

If you also wanna join her give-away (I am not sure, I think it’s only opened to Germany), you should definitely check out her blog. She’s really cute, and she is always posting. :D Sometimes more than once a day. Let’s say, she’s the ideal blogger-girl. :D

So, thx so much for this contest, wayofyourstyle (which is quite a weird name. ;))!

Love you all, have a nice day!

To-Go Make-Up: Black and Tan

Hey guys,

I found this incredible look in a German magazine. I show the inspiration picture in the video, so check it out. Unfortunately I am not as pretty as the model but still it turned out really pretty and I shocked my male friends at university with it. ;) (They're not used to a pretty me, I think. :D)

This look is really quick and easy, yet dramatic and kind of classy. I love it and I wanted to share it with you. I am a big fan of darker colors underneath the eye and less eyeshadow on the top lid because my eyes always react to colors on my top lid and my eye shape also is made for this kind of look.

What you need:
  • Eyeshadow base
  • Eyebrow kit
  • Bronzy eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Mascara
  • Concealer
  • Optional: foundation
  • Natural lipliner
  • Clear lipgloss
  • Bronzer

I hope this look is useful if you’re trying to find the right look for this summer. ;)

Take care, bye!

Nina Hagen: Blackest Black

Hey guys,

This look isn’t wearable at all. And it’s quite similar to a look I’ve done before. The reason for that is that Nina Hagen likes to wear the same style of make-up changing some details. There will be another similar look up soon.

Special about this look is obviously the eyeshadow that is winged out onto the temples and the eyebrows which are far away from any normal eyebrow shape.

Last but not least she wears her blush as two stripes on her cheeks. This reminds me of an Indian raggery (I hope this is the right word. :D).

Have fun watching!

What you need:
  • Black lose pigment (as Ponyhütchen Pigment in Black)
  • Optional: Mac Fix+
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Concealer
  • Foundation
  • Red or pink blush (as Mac Powder Blush in Frankly Scarlet)
  • Pink lipstick

So you don’t need a lot of things to look really scary and crazy in the end.

Take care, bye!

To-Go Make-Up: Trends of the Summer

Hey guys,

I did three looks for you today. :) These are like some ways to wear bright colors in the summer without looking like a rainbow. These looks are really simple and quickly done and they are perfect for a day off if you go out or shopping with friends.

I’ll post the pictures here because I did not save the links. They were at the Yahoo page and this was like weeks ago. I don’t remember where they are from. If there is any problem with these I’ll have to delete them again.

I did three looks, a green one, a blue one and a pink one. Every look is a little different and I like the pink one the most.

But also the blue one with this eyeliner looks great. All in all I really enjoyed wearing these. I hope you do so, too.

And I am sorry that I like to mix British and American English… It’s weird for me. xD

What you need:
  • Base eyeshadow
  • Bright eyeshadow (the color you like the most)
  • Warm brown eyeshadow
  • Highlighting eyeshadow
  • Optional: black gel eyeliner
  • Optional: black eyeliner pencil
  • Mascara
  • Concealer
  • Bright lipstick (the color you like the most)
  • Bronzer
  • Optional: blush
  • Eyebrow kit

Have a colorful summer, wherever you are. :D

Take care, bye!
