Purchase of the Month: January and February

Hey guys,

This is a funny new thing I wanted to do. I called it Purchase of the Month because I wanna show you what I bought. It’s a mixture of haul and review, depending on the products I wanna show you.

This is the January and February one because I didn’t buy much in January and I wanted to show you more than 2 minutes. :D

But I will try to do this every month now. What do you think? Good idea? *comment!*

What I bought:
  • Mac Fix+
I used it on the lips and eyes to create wet pigments and it worked really well. Even without a base there wasn’t much creasing at all. Looove that product for this particular use.
  • Mac 224
My favorite brush and the first one I bought at Mac. I totally love it and one day I will buy a second one for applying powder on top of my concealer every day. But it still works great for blending and applying eyeshadow.
  • Rae Morris – Make-Up: The ultimate Guide
Great book. Perfect for beginners because of so much information and so many great pictures. There are also looks for mature skin with lots of tips. I totally recommend having a look at it.

Tell me your opinion on these products and whether you think this could be helpful.

Take care, bye.

Color Xtreme: Dark Soul

Hey guys,

This is the last Color Xtreme look. But don’t be sad, the new series is going to start in April and this will be so exciting.

But first I want you to have a look at this carnival inspired make-up. I saw a picture somewhere on Youtube, and I will try to find it for you guys, where there was a face totally painted with colors but black lips and eyes. This was so beautiful and I thought it would be the perfect last look of this series.

I hope you don’t blame me for being arrogant because I think I can do something like that. I was curious and I think for the first try it is pretty good.

Enjoy this fun colorful look.

What you need:
  • Concealer, foundation
  • Light eyeliner to draw the outline
  • Colored base (as Mac Paint Pot in Girlfriendly)
  • Black base (as Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black Ink)
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Anthracite shimmery eyeshadow
  • Colorful bright eyeshadows (yellow, orange and green of the Sleek Acid Palette, red, different shades of purple, dark green and teals of a 96 colors palette by Zoeva)
  • Colored eyeliner on waterline (as the purple one of the Tarte Jewelry Box)
  • Black eyeliner through the top lashes (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean)
  • Mascara, Feather Lashes (Kiko Lashes Sophisticated/Extravagant No. 02)
  • Contour color, peachy blush
  • Nude lipstick

I’d love to read your comments. :)

Take care, bye.

To-Go Make-Up: Hillary Scott

Hey guys,

I’m posting a new wearable and celebrity inspired look because I forgot to do that last week. This is inspired by the following picture of Hillary Scott: http://www.cosmoty.de/star-looks/Hillary-Scott-Make-up-bei-den-GRAMMY-Awards-2011/

As always I don’t know that girl but maybe you know her or –like I did- just like this look. There are several ways to make it more wearable if this is too much for you. First of course don’t wear false lashes. Then you can do that look without the teal base which will make the colors show up less. And you can also use your metallic blue eyeshadow to create like a thick liner not going up into the grease too much.

If this is still too much blue for you create a nice nude or brown eye make-up and pop a little bit of blue on your lower lash line. This will not only make your make-up look more interesting but is also very good to enhance blue eyes. :)

What you need:
  • Teal or blue base
  • Metallic blue eyeshadow
  • Optional: Dark blue eyeshadow
  • Optionale: Lighter metallic blue eyeshadow
  • Nude eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner
  • Black gel eyeliner (as Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black Ink)
  • Maskara, optional: false lashes (as Red Cherry No. 47)
  • Foundation, concealer, contour color
  • Natural colored blush
  • Orange blush (as Benefit Blush in Georgia)
  • Powder
  • Natural colored lipstick (as Bobbi Brown Lipstick in Carnation)
  • Clear gloss

Tell me whether you liked this look.

Take care, bye.

Color Xtreme: Xsparkage's Blue and Orange Look

Hey guys,

This is the ninth Color Xtreme look, which means there is only one more coming. And I am very excited because I am planning something really cool.

This is a look I saw on Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjBxQllYjqI&feature=channel) and I totally fell in love with it. Also Xsparkage is my favorite Make-up-girl on Youtube so I decided to redo it.

I like the way the blue and the purple blend into each other while the orange is so vibrant on the lid. Beautiful. What do you think about this look?

What you need:
  • White base (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Vibrant orange colored eyeshadow  (as the one of the Sleek Acid Palette)
  • Sky-blue eyeshadow (as No. 28 of the Tarte Jewelry Box)
  • Optional: Dark blue eyeshadow
  • Purple eyeshadow
  • White highlight color (as the one of the Sleek Acid Palette)
  • White glittery or shimmery white eyeshadow (as No. 4 of the Tarte Jewelry Box)
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Purple Eyeliner (I also used the one of the Tarte Jewelry Box because I had nothing else)
  • Vibrant purple color (as the one of the Sleek Acid Palette)
  • Black gel eyeliner (as Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black Ink)
  • Eyebrow powder
  • Concealer, powder, contour color
  •  Sheer peach toned blush
  • Peachy nude lipstick (as Loreal Color Riche Lipstick in 264 Rose Corail)

I hope you enjoyed this look even if it is just a redo. :)

Take care, bye.

Update: My vacation - Milan, Italy

 Hey guys,

Today’s blog post is a little different. I wanted to upload this sooner but I had like no time for anything. I just wanted to tell you that I am back home and I had a great time in Milan.

We visited Milan for 6 days and we saw all the main sights and visited lots of museums there. If you’re interested in Art, don’t hesitate to go there.

If you’re interested in Fashion I can’t really tell you something because I didn’t find any fashion. I love Rome and it’s my favorite city in the world and for me it is way more fashion city than Milan. But on the other hand I don’t know anything about fashion. ;)

The shops in Milan are nothing special, many like Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton and on the other hand shops that you seem to find everywhere like H&M or Pimkie. The only thing I couldn’t find was a little boutique with clothes I cannot find at home or in another city nearby. :(

Though it was amazing but I don’t have any reason to go there again.

What you need:
Little bit of time and money
A map of the metro stations
A map of the city centre

Please tell me whether you liked this video or whether you have been there before. :)

Take care, bye.

Color Xtreme: The Grape

Hey guys,

I am in Italy right now but my boyfriend is uploading this for you. :)

I did this look before I left Germany for my friend because she was visiting a costume party and was going as a grape. I loved the idea so much that I had to create a grape look for our Color Xtreme series and I think it’s a great one.

If it is too much for you you can always calm down the colors and do not apply them as high as I did, but the combination of purple and dark green is one of my favorites. But always be aware that this can also look like you’ve been punched in the eye so be careful and blend well. :D

Now enjoy this tutorial.

What you need:
  • Black base (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean)
  • Optional: Water or mixing medium to get the brush wet
  • Purple pigment
  • Dark green eyeshadow (I would not use a matt one)
  • White or light highlight color
  • Optional: glitter color
  • Black gel or liquid eyeliner
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Grayish purple colored eyebrow powder
  • White eyeliner pencil (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Pale pink glitter color
  • Concealer, foundation, powder
  • Contour color (optional: grayish purple color)
  • Pink blush, highlighter
  • Pink lipliner
  • Purple lipstick or purple pigment on top
  • A little bit gloss

I hope you have fun with this look and maybe you can dress up like a grape, too. My friend won the prize for the second best costume. ;)

Take care, bye.

This is the most beautiful picture I've ever taken. Doesn't it look like I had a whole studio and best lighting? :)

To-Go Make-Up: Zoe Lister-Jones

Hey guys,

This is an old tutorial I did back in January. I almost forgot it but now that I am in Italy I thought I might show you. The quality is not as good but I still like the look. The inspiration picture you can find right here: http://www.cosmoty.de/star-looks/Zoe-Lister-Jones-Make-up-bei-der-Filmpremiere-von-The-Other-Guys/

I don’t really know that girl but I love the make-up. Of course my eye shape is not the best for this look, but I think you can still see, how to do it. I wore this for my birthday party. :)

The special thing is the extremely winged eyeliner and those beautiful red lips which are not an all in the face red but still catch the attention. :) It’s a little bit pin-up like, which I loooove.

What you need:
  • Soft skin toned eyeshadow (as Macs Brule)
  • Soft warm brown colored eyeshadow
  • Black colored eyeshadow
  • White eyeliner (as Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Gel or liquid eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Foundation, contour color, pink blush
  • Red lipliner
  • Colored lipbalm
  • Optional: Peachy tone to calm down
  • Optional: red eyeshadow on top
  • Tiniest amount of gloss

Ok, I know the quality isn’t the best but I hope you though like it. Please leave some comments.

Take care, bye.

My travel bag!

Hey guys,

If you miss me you can watch this crazy video I filmed for you. It's what I will take with me into that fashion city. Well, it's not really special but I wanted to do something you can watch. And I am talking so much messed up stuff. But well, have fun.

See you soon and write some nice comments. :D

Ps: I am planning to do a give away for my Youtube subscibers, so if you haven't already, SUBSCRIBE! :D

To-Go Make-Up: My daily Routine + What's in my purse?

Hey guys,

This video is really embarrassing because most of the time I have completely no make-up on. I don’t have problems with that in real life but in front of a camera it’s kinda weird. I hope you don’t mind my loooong intro which turned itself into a what’s in my purse/make-up bag-video. :D

I hope you like me talking nonsense because that’s pretty much what I do in the first part of the video. The second part is what I wanted to show you: my everyday make-up routine so you see that I am not a woman which needs make-up like the air she breathes. I like it but I won’t let it rule me. ;)

What you need:
  • Concealer (liquid)
  • Powder on a small brush to set the concealer
  • Optional: Concealer (for blemishes and redness)
  • White eyeliner (Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk)
  • Lash curler and mascara
  • Lipgloss or balm or whatever you like (as Ponyhütchen Lip Balm in Rudolph)
  • Settled color in the crease (as Mac Paint Pot in Girl friendly)

I hope you like that video and it helps you to find your own make-up routine. :)

Always remember, you’re wearing make-up and the make-up should not be wearing you. ;) What a lame slogan…

Take care, bye.

Color Xtreme: Fierce Lips

Hey guys,

It’s not one look waiting for you today but there are 5 new looks I want to show you. I wanted to do some fierce lip looks and decided to put them all in one video. Tell me what you think about it.

First I wanted to show you how to get fuller looking lips. With a few tricks and the right lighting you can pump them up so easily. Watch the first video to learn how to do that.

Then I have got 4 really fierce looks for you. The first one reminded me of a reptile because it looks kind of ill. My friend was shopping with this look and many people starred at her. (Brave friend, hm?) This look is cool if it goes with your style or if you’re going to a costume party.
The next one is the heart inspired by the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. I looooove this make-up and thinking of fierce lip looks it’s a must have.
The lightning bold is inspired by the cover of the new album of a German band called Juli. I don’t really like the music but when I first saw this cover I was like – Gosh, you have to do this lip look! And it’s definitely my favorite one.
The last look is just something fun I wanted to do. I wanted to see how well the pigment would blend into the lipstick but it wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. Though I quite like the look.
